#*COMRADE EGWUNYENGA PLEDGES SUPPORT TO NYSC*#

The Delta State Commissioner of Youth Development, Comrade Ifeanyi Michael Egwunyenga has pledged his continuous support to the National Youth Service Corps while receiving the new State Coordinator Mr. Alao Olusegun O. in his office today.

The Commissioner, who played host to the incoming State Coordinator, welcomed him to Delta State and assured him of the maximum support from the Ministry of Youth Development. He reiterated State Government commitment to address the challenges enumerated by the management of the Scheme and gave account of work in progress to meeting the needs of the NYSC in providing a central store in camp, construction of internal road network to address perennial erosion menace and the urgent need to raise the perimeter fence to keep off Intruders.

Comrade Egwunyenga commended the efforts of staff and corps members in the last assignment where they were engaged in empowerment programme of the Ministry of Youth Development and promised for more collaboration with the NYSC in the near future. He stated that the State Government holds the NYSC Scheme to heart because of the Worthy contributions of the corps members to the developmental agenda of the Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa. He also mentioned that efforts are in place to increase the number of corps lodges from existing State government building as a result of the movement of government offices to the newly constructed State Secretariat Building.

The incoming NYSC Delta State Coordinator, Mr. Alao Olusegun O. thanked the Honorable Commissioner of Youth Development for granting him audience within the shortest notice of resumption in the State. He appreciates the State Government under the distinguished leadership of the Executive Governor, His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa for the numerous infrastructures in camp and for promised assistance to the NYSC Secretariat affected by the fire incident recently.

Mr. Alao thanked the Youthful Commissioner for the roles in making the NYSC Scheme standout in it's operations. He congratulated the commissioner on his recent reappointment as the helmsman of the Ministry of Youth Development. The State Coordinator reminded the Commissioner of Youth Development of State Government promise to address issues of low perimeter fence, additional 700 bedspace capacity hostel, NYSC Central Store and construction of internal road network in camp. 

The Ministry of Youth Development serves as the supervising ministry of the NYSC in the State and NYSC Delta State has always gotten the support and assistances of the ministry in the time past.

Highlights was the presentation of the policy guidelines of the Scheme to the commissioner and taking of group photographs.
