#* Over 2,000 PCMs Inducted into National Service in Delta State *#

Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) Nationwide were today inducted into the National Youth Service Corps during the opening and swearing in ceremony of the 2021 Batch 'B' Stream 1 orientation course.
A total of 2,260 corps members comprising 1,030 males and 1,230 females took the oath of allegiance at the swearing in ceremony in Delta State NYSC permanent orientation camp, in Issele-Uku, Aniocha North Local Goverment Area.
The opening ceremony grace by the Delta State Chief Judge Hon. Justice Theresa Obiajulu Diai represented by Justice Excel Timi administered the oath of allegiance on the corps members.
The opening ceremony was colorful and first of its kind with the institutionalization of the office of the Corps Camp Director in the person of Gyok Samuel Luka DT/21B/ 1734. The novel idea will give room to grooming the youths for leadership positions.

In his welcome address, the State Coordinator Mr. Alao Olaosebikan Olusegun congratulated the batch of corps members for the success in their various academics pursuits that qualified them for National Youth Service Corps. He urged the Corps Members to obey rules and regulations stipulated for their conduct in camp and the service year entirely. '...corps members, the NYSC camp is a regimented place where your movements and activities are kept under close monitoring. As a matter of fact, your assessment started from the moment you stepped into the camp. Our overall assessment will either qualify you for an award or punishment at the end of your service year so choose wisely' he said.
Mr. Alao encouraged the Corps Members to utilize the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) program to be self reliant since the white collar jobs are not readily available for a pick.

The State Coordinator further warned against loosing guard on COVID-19 pandemic. He admonished the corps members to always wash their hands at the designated points around the camp, Use the facemask and observe physical distancing at every given event.
While welcoming them to Delta State, the coordinator wish them a hitch free orientation course.
Highlights was the oath taking and Man 'O' War tugg of War display for the entertainment of all present.
