NYSC DG virtual address to Corps Members during the 2023 Batch B Stream 1 Orientation Course.

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Director-General Brigadier General YD Ahmed has tasked the 2023 Batch B Stream 1 Prospective Corps Members(PCM) to be of good conduct, in and outside the orientation camp. 

The DG in his virtual address to the Pcms nationwide, harped on proper dress code at all times and the use of social media to promote national unity. 

Brigadier General YD Ahmed welcomed the batch of corps members to the orientation camps nationwide, while congratulating them for their success in their academic programmes which qualified them for mobilization into the noble Scheme.

'The NYSC is divided into four cardinal preprogrammes the Orientation course, Primary Assignment, Secondary Assignment/Community Development Service, and Winding up/Passing Out Parade. You are required to undergo the various phases of the service year with commitment and dedication,' said NYSC DG.

Brigadier General YD Ahmed implored the batch of corps members to be actively engaged in all camp activities and utilize the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme to gain skills for self-reliance. 

The Director-General warned that henceforth wrong usage of the NYSC uniforms will be dealt with according to the extant laws guiding the conduct of corps members in national service. He further warned that the wrong use of social media during orientation is prohibited. 

While congratulating prospective corps members for answering the call of national service outside their state, he further urged them to be security conscious and not to compromise their security. The DG wishes the corps members a safe and peaceful orientation exercise.
