*GOVERNOR OBOREVWORI TASKS CORPS MEMBERS ON PATRIOTISM, PLEDGES COMMITMENT TO WELFARE AND SECURITY*

The Executive Governor of Delta State Rt Hon. (Elder)Sheriff Oborevwori has tasked the 2023 Batch B Stream 1 corps members deployed to the State on patriotism, discipline, honesty, and selflessness. 
In his address to the newly sworn-in corps members for the 2023 Batch B Stream 1 undergoing orientation course in Issele-Uku earlier today, His Excellency welcomed the corps members to Delta State and urged them to be committed to achieving, through their conduct, a more cohesive and peaceful Nigeria where genuine love, understanding, and peaceful co-existence should be the standard.

His Excellency represented by Chief of Staff Government House, Hon. Prince Johnson Erijo,  charged the young graduates to equip themselves with the necessary skills for self-reliance through the NYSC Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme, to give opportunities to the youths to set up micro industries. 
Governor Oborevwori further called on the corps members to embark on visible community development projects and improve the host communities, while assuring them, that government will do everything possible to ensure their safety and welfare.
A total of one thousand two hundred and thirty corps members took the oath of allegiance before the Chief Judge, Justice Onome Marshall Umuokoro during the swearing-in and opening ceremony. 
In addition, the Secretary to the State Government and Chairman NYSC State Governing Board, Hon. Dr. Kingsley Emu has implored the corps members to concentrate on the training programme enshrined in the orientation course, so that the aims of the NYSC scheme will continually be met through them. 
The NYSC Board Chairman represented by the Permanent Secretary Cabinet Office and Administration Mr. Henry Onyeukwu thanked corps employers for their unwavering support over the years and he reminded them that the time has come again to make preparations to receive corps members who will be posted to them and modalities put in place for accommodation, transportation and fulfilling schedule of duty for corps members.
Earlier on, the State Coordinator Mr. Alao, Olusegun Olaosebikan congratulated His Excellency, the Governor of Delta State for his victory at the polls,  and showed appreciation to the State Government and the good people of Delta State for their support towards the Scheme. 
Mr. Alao solicited an urgent need for an Ambulance given the growing corps population and proximity to a tertiary healthcare facility during orientation and completion of all outstanding projects in the camp. He remains optimistic that the administration of our amiable Governor Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori will give birth to new projects and completions of projects in camp. 
The State Coordinator pledges to work with the present Administration to better the lot of the people of Delta State.
