*THE BEAUTY OF ONENESS DEMONSTRATED DURING THE CULTURAL CARNIVAL.*

As part of activities lined up at the end of camp, corps members have demonstrated the beauty and uniqueness of Nigerian cultures. This was showcased during the Cultural Carnival that was held at the Pavillion in issele- Uku camp to drive home the purpose of national integration through acceptance of other diverse cultures.

In his remarks, the State Coordinator Mr. Alao, Olusegun Olaosebikan, admonished the corps members to cherish the rich cultural heritage bequeathed to us by our forefathers. He added that the country is the envy of other nations because of this unique future and appreciated them for coming out in their numbers to make the day colorful. While expressing the need to love their respective customs and tradition, they must however equally respect other cultures, irrespective of language and cultural differences. He advised them to be happy that they are Nigerians.
The State Coordinator explained further that, Nigerians should not be divided because of their cultural diversity but rather see the diversity as their strength, stating that no culture is superior to the other.
Mr. Alao, therefore, encouraged the corps members to be patriotic and always consider Nigeria first before every other consideration, as divided we fall but united we stand.
Mr. Alao Olusegun O. and Camp Director Mr. Ainakhu Johnson received the Kitchen committee during the carnival procession.
As a mark of welcome, the host community Issele- uku was present during the Carnival with a cultural dance group named Otu` 'Ogi Chukwu bu`lu` `uzor. They thrilled the corps members with some cultural dance display with local music instruments prominently the local flute.

Earlier on, the Head of Man 'O' War, Mrs. Mba Nancy in her address enjoined the corps members to always respect the culture and tradition of their host communities. She urged them to put all they have learned during the orientation course to better use.
High points of the cultural carnival were a visit by the State Coordinator in the company of other camp officials to each canopy, after which there was a cultural display by ten platoons, the NYSC Band, OBS, Camp Marketers, the Sanitation group, the kitchen committee and platoon 11(camp officials) led by the camp director, Mr. Johnson. Ainakhu. Other side attractions were the egg race, sack race, and catching the train. Platoon 9 emerged as the overall best for the 2023 Batch B stream I inter-platoon Carnival competition.
